Toms River Mayor Thomas Kelaher was so adamant about getting some muscle behind the $50 billion federal hurricane relief package stalled in Congress that he was prepared to personally drive Gov. Chris Christie to Washington, D.C,. to twist some arms.In the end, the road trip won’t be needed because the House of Representatives voted Tuesday night to approve the package with some amendments — to the delight of mayors of Sandy-ravaged Shore towns struggling to recover.
