ACCIDENT, Md. – The Maryland Department of Natural Resources says Superstorm
Sandy killed more than 7,000 trout at a western Maryland trout hatchery in October.
A state fisheries official told the Cumberland Times-News Thursday (
http://bit.ly/WduwTI) that a lightning bolt
killed 7,000 trout instantly, and 400 died later.
The fish accounted for about 10 percent of the trout at the Bear Creek Hatchery
near Accident.
