This kind of emergency aid is important and it’s precisely the kind of thing we are sent to Congress to do.  However, I decided to join my Sacramento-area colleague Congresswoman Matsui in opposing the Republican-authored rules package that denied my House colleagues an opportunity to vote on an amendment authorizing flood protection projects like The Natomas Levee Improvement Project.
